We welcome visits from school and academy groups, colleges and teacher groups and wherever possible our sessions will be tailored to your locality or curriculum requirements.

For primary groups we offer a choice between tailored sessions on your own local study projects or workshops based on National Curriculum subjects.
Older students will be encouraged to work as real historians and be taught the skills to further their research in the public search room.
Teachers and support staff can also book CPD sessions that will familiarise them with what the Record Office can offer, plus resources and suggestions for teaching a range of subjects, including history or geography.
2013 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Beeching Report that led to the dramatic restructuring of the railway network across the United Kingdom. To remember and celebrate our railway heritage the Life on the line project is an exciting opportunity for pupils to investigate and discover what part railways played in the development of their local area from the mid 19th century to the present day.
