Beaulieu Development Centre

Youth and Community

Beaulieu Development Centre provides an environment where young people can develop team skills and discover new qualities about themselves and each other, in idyllic surroundings. Outdoor activities are used to encourage new ways of working in a supportive environment. Experienced and highly skilled instructor/facilitators spend time after each activity exploring the learning that can be gained from the task. By working together in groups to meet challenges, solve problems and reflect on their success young people discover resources within themselves and each other that they can use in all areas of their lives.

The young people who attend enjoy themselves as they learn and are always offered a “challenge by choice” approach to all the activities. We use problem-solving situations that involve all the young people in the group, collectively developing their inter personnel skills.

We appreciate that all groups vary, which is why we tailor make our courses and programmes to suit your groups needs. Feel free to contact the centre if you would like to speak with one of our course tutors, whether it be to find out more information, or to start designing a day for your young people. Please find our contact details on our home page along with our downloadable bookings pack.

The activities we offer are both physical and non-physical to ensure we can meet the specific requirements and abilities of your group.

The natural woodland setting provides a fantastic outdoor environment for your course. We have wooden shelters where your group can meet, have lunch and shelter in inclement weather.

It is the policy of the Centre that all course participants, tutors, observers and visitors wear a safety helmet while they are on site and the discipline and conduct of groups under the age of 18 years visiting the Centre is the responsibility of the leaders/teachers in charge of the group.
