Land Management

The County Council employs a team of land management professionals within the Ecology Group who provide a range of services and support to landowners (private and organisations including the County Council) with the aim of encouraging the appropriate management of land of conservation value in Hampshire.

This team of specialists is able to draw upon a wealth of experience of management techniques for a diverse array of habitats and species.  They have particular expertise in the ecology and management of heathland, woodlands, lowland grassland and wetlands.  These specialists also provide management advice to owners and managers of Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation.

The Land Management team administer a Small Grant Scheme for parish and town councils who own or manage SINCs. This is designed to fund practical on site work that benefits the habitat or species for which the SINC has been designated.
