We manage 19 museums and specialist sites, four outdoor centres, seven country parks and some 4,500 km of footpaths, bridleways and byways. More than 42,000 plants from temperate regions around the world grow in our themed landscapes at the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in Romsey. Hampshire Record Office preserves and makes accessible 8 miles of Hampshire's documented memory in the archives.
We support more than 100 No Cold Calling Zones, and provide Trading Standards advice to local people and businesses. Our friendly community safety officers keep a watchful eye out to make neighbourhoods safer. We register the births, marriages, deaths and other family occasions in all Hampshire’s diverse communities. We also bring people together for learning and exploration in more than 50 Libraries and Discovery Centres across the County.
Our award-winning architecture means Hampshire’s portfolio of schools, libraries, care homes and historic buildings grows more sustainable and innovative every year, and our 1971 hectares of farmland help to keep Hampshire’s rural economy thriving. Our leading IT service keeps the council at the forefront of technology, and is now chosen by many of our partner organisations too, making it possible to link services together.
Our business services, including transport, office supplies, catering, printing and scientific testing, support a wide range of public organisations – including our colleagues in the police and fire services, and the schools that teach Hampshire’s children.
