Services for Young Children

Improvement Support Programme (ISP)

Services for Young Children believe that all Hampshire children have the right to the highest quality childcare and education that meets their individual needs. The Service is committed to supporting and enabling childcare practitioners to be self-managing, and deliver effective childcare provision.

The SfYC team has provided development and learning support to settings by regular visits, access to training, support networks, access to grants and funding.

To build on this approach SfYC have developed an extensive menu of support tailored to the needs of settings.

Three levels of support will now be offered and the support offer will be reviewed annually.

General support

It is expected all settings will access a range of services from this support.

Targeted support

Settings will access support from the range of services offered under the general support offer and additional focused support to ensure continuous improvement.

Intensive support

Settings will access support from the range of services offered under the general support offer and an individualised support programme to promote quality outcomes.

The level of support for settings for the year will be decided after the annual conversation with the local authority has taken place. Settings will be advised of the offer of the level of support by letter at the start of the following term.

News

  • Clarification about targeted support has been requested from a number of providers. This offer may be given to 'outstanding' and 'good' settings where specific support is required, for example, for an inclusion or business support matter. Any specific instance that requires our support may be defined as targeted but not relate to OfSTED outcomes.
