Not in training, education or employment? Then the Award Programme could be just what you're looking for to get you back on track.
The programme is full time and can be started throughout the year. We can help you to decide what you want to do with your future and to develop the skills and qualities you need to get there.
The programme gives you the chance to develop practical life and teambuilding skills, experience what a workplace is like (e.g. this could be a placement with Hampshire County Council), and at the same time gain nationally recognised qualifications.
During the programme, you will undertake a range of activities, which will help you when applying for jobs, by developing:
problem solving, presentation and communication skills
resilience and independence
leadership and teambuilding skills.
Are you aged 16-18 (or up to 25 for young people with learning difficulties or disabilities) and not sure what to do next? Then the Award Programme could be for you.
The programme runs in the following areas:
You will be able to apply for the 16-19 Bursary Fund and you may be eligible for a bursary of up to £1,200.
The bursary provides support to young people to help you stay in education and training after 16 and can help pay for costs like transport.
You will need to be referred to the programme by a professional (i.e. a youth worker or teacher).
If you think you are eligible and could benefit from this support, contact the Youth Support Services in your area, who can tell you more and let you know how to link with a referrer.
Do you know of a young person who could benefit from support through the Award Programme?
