This a pilot programme to help young people from low income families to access post-16 education and training by offering financial support for transport costs. There will be apprioximately £247K per year distributed to colleges and training providers who will then provide the support directly to students. It is conditional on young people having adequate attendance. The scheme aims to ensure that all young people have fair access to their prefered choice of post-16 education or training course and transport costs will not be a barrier to those from lower income families. This will run alongside the national post-16 bursary scheme and will only be available to students not eligible for support from this scheme. For more information, contact your education or training provider.
