Traineeships – Information for Organisations Referring Young People

Traineeships are designed to help young people who want to get an apprenticeship or job but don’t yet have the appropriate skills or experience. They are an ideal opportunity for young people to get a job but who lack the skills and experience that employers are looking for; our programme offer provides two entry points for young people.

1. First Traineeship

This programme gives the confidence to prepare young people for the world of work through a community project and support with Maths and English through engaging an interesting activities related to the workplace. They will also develop employability skills and work towards a Level 1 Award in Job Search & Interview Skills; this qualification has been developed in partnership with Reed Employment Agency to help prepare young people for the world of work.

2. Traineeship Plus

A Traineeship can prepare young people for their future careers, helping them to get ready for the world of work and improving their chances of getting an Apprenticeship or other job. The programme will give them the experience of the working world so the move into employment isn’t as daunting and they will receive support with English and maths through engaging and interesting activities related to the workplace. They will also develop their employability skills and work towards a Level 1 Award in Employability Skills; this qualification has been developed in partnership with Reed Employment Agency to help prepare young people for the world of work.
