Our team is made up of Social Workers, Police Officers, Probation Officers, Youth Support Workers and specialist workers in Health, Education, Parenting, Substance Misuse and the Sports/Arts.
Hampshire YOT’s staff are all employed by either Hampshire County Council or one of our partner agencies. Some of our practitioners have permanent employment status with one of the partner agencies, and are released for a period of secondment to the YOT.
This arrangement is intended to help ensure that professional practitioners are able to build upon their existing skills during their time spent working in YOT.
Working within the Youth Justice System requires a high level of skilled face-to-face contact with young offenders, their families, their victims and those who have to pass sentence in our courts. Our staff are our greatest asset and the partnership is committed to further improvements in its arrangement for the induction, training, supervision and appraisal of the staff who work within the YOT.
All HCC opportunities are advertised externally in the local press and can be accessed on www.hampshire.gov.uk/jobs
All non-HCC posts are advertised by the appropriate employer, e.g. Police Officer positions are advertised via Hampshire Constabulary.
