Children with more significant learning difficulties, physical disabilities or behavioural difficulties may attend a special school or resourced provision within a mainstream school. After completion of the statutory assessment process and the issue of a statement, the local authority will consider whether a place in one of these schools is appropriate for your child. Please refer to our publication Provision in Hampshire for children with statements of special educational needs
806kb for a list of mainstream schools with specialist resourced provision (pages 19-25) and special schools (pages 27-30), with details of age ranges covered and the special needs the schools provide. If you would like more information about these schools, please contact the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Service.
If your child attends one of these schools you may be eligible for help with home to school transport. Please see our booklet Transport for children attending special schools and resourced provision
