Coastal Projects 2000-2007

Hampshire County Council has funded a number of coastal projects alone and in partnership with others. These have included a number of different types of projects such as

• improved access at the coast

• improvements to the environment and nature conservation value of areas

• better interpretation and way marking

• coastal defence works

• slipway and jetty improvements

• strategies and initiatives

• improved knowledge through research and monitoring

Projects are listed under the following headings:

• Christchurch Bay and North West Solent

• Southampton Water

• Portsmouth, Langstone and Chichester Harbours

• Research and studies

• Strategic planning and management
