
It is more important than ever that the County Council continues to take a robust approach to financial management, seeking efficiencies and value for money. This priority is about meeting the gap between the funding the Council receives from central Government by:
£55 million of savings were achieved, delivering our full efficiencies and transformation programme for the year and placing the County Council in a strong position for 2012/13.
We completed a review of our ‘back office’ services, making them more effective at a lower cost. This gives us opportunities for sharing or selling some of these services to other public sector organisations, which will help ensure that the money spent on frontline services is maximised.
We developed plans for sharing some support services with Hampshire Constabulary and Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service.
