Filming for the BBC’s Wartime Farm series started in September 2011 and continued until the first airdate in September 2012.
The programme focused on the Second World War and all aspects of domestic and farming life of the period, using the farmhouse, farmyard and fields at Manor Farm as their setting. Presenters Peter Ginn, Ruth Goodman and Alex Langlands explored how people lived, farmed and cooked food during the Second World War.
The book about the series and the Wartime Farm DVD are both available from the Manor Farm shop.
The painting 'Closing in' shows a Messerschmitt and a Spitfire in combat over the fields of Manor Farm and was featured on the Wartime Farm series.
