We can fund up to 50% of the total project cost.

The remaining contribution can come from any non-Hampshire County Council source, such as Parish Council funds, landfill tax or local businesses.

The total project cost is made up of expenditure (e.g. materials, tools, contractors) and the value of volunteer time. Contact us if you need help calculating volunteer time contributions.  

Volunteer labour

Volunteer labour can also be used to contribute towards your match funding.

This should be calculated at no more than £50/person/day (i.e. £6.25/person/hour).

• Volunteer time contributions may form no more than 25% of the total project cost. The total project cost is made up of expenditure (e.g. materials, tools, contractors) and the value of volunteer time. Contact us if you need help calculating volunteer time contributions.

Community Service Payback Teams can be used, but this cannot count as volunteer match funding.

• Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council Community Environmental Enhancement Fund
  Supporting communities to improve their local area and foster an appreciation of the environment.
  Up to £5,000
  
• Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs AONB
  The Local Action Fund can make awards of up to about £1,000 for community projects that have the backing or involvement of the Parish Council. The Sustainable Development Fund supports projects that bring environmental, social and economic benefits. Projects must be within the AONB.

• Chichester Harbour AONB
  The Sustainable Development Fund supports projects which have a community or environmental benefit. Projects must be within the AONB.
  £40,000 (total fund)
  
• New Forest National Park Authority
  The National Park Authority provides an additional 25% funding to all approved Small Grants Scheme Countryside Access projects in the National Park.
  Up to £10,000
  
• North Wessex Downs AONB
  The Sustainable Development Fund supports a range of projects that bring environmental, social and economic benefits. Projects must be within the AONB.

• South Downs National Park Authority
  The new Sustainable Communities Fund supports projects contributing to the sustainable development of the National Park and its local communities. Projects must be within the National Park.

• Winchester and East Hampshire Local Action Group
  The Fieldfare LEADER fund supports projects which conserve and enhance the rural heritage of an area. Projects must be within the local authority districts of Winchester or East Hampshire (excluding the urban areas of Winchester City, Petersfield, Alton, Horndean and Whitehill and Bordon) and feature in a ‘community integrated plan’ (e.g. Parish Plan, Village Design Statement).

• CEMEX Community Fund
  Supports projects which improve or enhance local community facilities and places of interest. Projects must be within 3 miles of a high impact CEMEX site – use the search feature on the CEMEX website.
  £1,000 - £15,000
  
• SITA Trust
  Supports community and environmental improvement projects. Projects must be within the funding zone around a qualifying waste processing site – use the search feature on the SITA website.
  Up to £20,000
  
• Veolia Environmental Trust
  Supports community and environmental projects across the UK. Projects must be within 5 miles of a qualifying facility to be eligible for funding - use the search feature on the Veolia website.
  Up to £40,000
  
• Big Lottery Fund
  The Awards for All programme supports projects to improve both rural and urban environments, which communities are better able to access and enjoy.
  £300 - £10,000
  
• Heritage Lottery Fund
  The Your Heritage programme supports projects which conserve the UK’s diverse heritage for present and future generations to experience and enjoy.
  £3,000 - £50,000
