STOP PRESS for Secondary Transfer applicants

>Updated on 1 March 2016

Today is National Offer Day - the day that all parents who submitted an on-time application find out which secondary school their child has been allocated for September 2016.  We are pleased to announce that 98% of Hampshire applicants have gained a place at one of their preferred schools, with 93% gaining a place at their 1st preference school.

If you applied online, you will have been sent an e-mail during the early hours of this morning confirming the outcome of your application. If you have not yet received your e-mail, you will be able to log in to the online system to view the outcome.

If we have been unable to offer you a place at your first preference school, you will also be sent a letter by first class post detailing the reasons for the refusal. If you have been allocated a school outside of Hampshire, you will also be sent a letter containing a reply slip which you will need to return to confirm your acceptance of the place.

If you applied using a paper form, you will be sent a letter today by first class post confirming the outcome of your application. Please allow 3 working days for receipt.

What if I didn't get my preferred school?

Your child will automatically be added to the waiting list of any Hampshire school you named on your application that was a higher preference than the one you have been allocated. Please refer to our waiting list section for details on how waiting lists are administered. If you want to join the waiting list of a lower preference school, you will need to make a new application (see below). Please note that if a place becomes available and we are able to offer your child a place from the waiting list, any previous offer will automatically be withdrawn. It is important therefore that you let us know if you no longer wish to be on the waiting list of any your preferred schools.

You also have the right of appeal against the decision to refuse your child a place at any of your preferred schools. Please visit our appeals webpage for further information.

Still need to make an application?

If you have not yet made an application for Year 7 in September 2016, or you would like to make another application, you will need to complete a LATE form, available to download and print  Download Adobe Reader to view this PDF 119kB. Forms are also available from any Hampshire school or the County Admissions Team on request. Completed application forms can be returned to any Hampshire school or the County Admissions Team.

When will late applications be processed?

Please refer to our Year 7 timeline for further details.
