Extended Services are services for children outside of the normal school day, with the aim of raising standards, narrowing attainment gaps and improving outcomes for children.
Many Hampshire schools provide a wider range of learning opportunities and access to facilities to the wider Hampshire public, through their community provision.
Courses available range from arts and crafts, music and dance, cookery, languages, and sport and fitness to functional skills in numeracy, literacy and IT. Many schools also over specialist provision and qualification courses in areas such as childcare and business administration. Facilities available include sports halls, pools, courts, gyms, craft workshops and ICT suites.
This community provision cannot operate without adult education tutors and instructors and community staff managing and administering the provision.
