Who will benefit? Governors and headteachers on staffing/personnel (dismissal/appeal) committees who ideally have already attended Understanding Personnel Matters in Schools.
What will you learn? You will further develop your understanding of the role of the governing body as a good employer and your role in managing key employment matters as a member of a relevant committee. This course has a focus on managing common employment issues within schools such as conduct and performance concerns and will review the decisions governors can make on personnel policies in school and how this impacts on managing these issues. The course will also cover key staffing matters for consideration in managing budgets in uncertain times.
