Competing at the highest level in any sport is an expensive business. Travel, equipment, training, coaching and physiotherapy – the costs soon add up. Hampshire County Council’s Culture, Communities and Rural Affairs and Children Services Departments, in partnership with Southampton City Council and Portsmouth City Council have developed the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme - an athlete-centred support programme designed to give Hampshire’s most gifted athletes access to as much support as possible to help them reach their full potential.
Applications to the Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme are open on an annual basis. Successful applicants then become a member of the scheme for 12 months.
Please visit the HTAS website for full information: Hampshire Talented Athlete Scheme

In order that teachers can be released from their teaching commitments in order to act in an official capacity as team manager / officials for county regional and on occasions national schools events, supply cover can be agreed. These need to be agreed in advance with the Outdoor Education, PE and School sport Service.
Hampshire County Council acknowledges that in certain circumstances it is necessary to hire specialist sports facilities in order to stage representative school sports events at county level. Therefore through the Outdoor Education, PE and Sport Service it provides funding to ensure such events take place. Funding can only be agreed in advance of the event and is dependent on funds being available.
