Education and Inclusion Service

Elective Home Education

Hampshire County Council is committed to supporting families who choose to electively home educate. Elective Home Education (EHE) is sometimes called home education or home schooling and is supported through the Education Inclusion Service (EIS).

Should parents be considering EHE for a child currently at school then they should discuss the matter with the Headteacher in the first instance.

If parents are considering EHE then these documents should help and answer some of the most frequently asked questions:

ChatHealth is a new, confidential text messaging service that enables children and young people (aged 11-19) to contact the school nursing team with questions or concerns. For more information, see the ChatHealth poster  Download Adobe Reader to view this PDF 462kB.

Parents who currently EHE and wish to return their child to school should contact admissions.

Elective Home Education Survey

We would like to thank all the parents who took the time to complete the Elective Home Education Survey. We hope you find the summary of the results  Download Adobe Reader to view this PDF 500kB interesting. If you would like to comment on the report, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We will be reviewing EHE services we provide in a bid to improve the support we offer.
