Regional Flood & Coastal Committees (RFCCs) have an important role to play in future flood risk management and, in particular, the funding of flood defences and prevention and mitigation schemes.
This forms part of the ‘Partnership Resilience Funding’ approach to allocating Flood Defence Grant in Aid (FDGiA). It is the RFCCs who operate the FDGiA process at the local level and determine which schemes get what funding.
Hampshire is covered by three RFCCs:
Hampshire County Council is represented on all three committees and in total was levied £569,000 by the three RFCCs in 2010/11.
