Forest Arts Centre is the leading venue for live arts events in the New Forest. A former military drill hall in New Milton, it has a 146 capacity air-conditioned theatre, dance studio, workshop room and licensed café-bar with gallery space.
Owned by Hampshire County Council and supported by New Forest District Council, the Centre’s programme includes live music, comedy, theatre, dance and other events – as well as regular screenings of the best in world and classic film.
Exhibitions of high quality work by local, regional and national artists change regularly and Forest Arts offers regular classes in dance, drama and art for adults and youngsters, as well as one off workshops (such as jewellery making and glass craft) activities for families, and half-term and holiday workshops.
In addition the Centre provides an extensive educational and outreach programme in partnership with schools, community and voluntary organisations as well as other arts organisations, HCC and NFDC services.
Our rooms are also available for hiring at certain times and current users include the Hard of Hearing Club, Brockenhurst College Special Needs group, and private yoga, pilates and art tutors.
We believe in access for all and work very hard to make Forest Arts a welcoming, comfortable and affordable venue for all customers.
We offer concession prices as marked (for children under 16, fulltime students, over 60s those in receipt of disability allowance, unemployment benefit or income support. Proof of discount status will need to be shown when collecting your tickets.)
