
Dave Stewart is an independent consultant and former police officer with over 30 years service with the Hampshire Constabulary. During his service he worked and lived throughout Hampshire, and has a broad range of policing knowledge and experience - including operational experience as a senior detective (SIO) and as an internal complaint investigator within the Professional Standards Department (PSD). He has also been at the forefront of police leadership training delivery at the National Police College, Bramshill, for over 2 years.
Dave originates from the Isle of Wight and has worked professionally with various members of the Island Strategic Partnership before becoming a Ward Councillor and Member of the Isle of Wight Council in 2010. Dave has recently been appointed to the Cabinet of the Isle of Wight Council with specific responsibility for public health, community safety and other local services including heritage. He is married to Maureen and they have four children all of whom live and work in the local community. He is very pleased to have the opportunity to Chair the Police and Crime Panel as it develops its responsibilities for scrutiny of the newly elected Police and Crime Commissioner.
