Tree adoption helps ensure that we can continue to select and grow beautiful trees, while preserving memories you cherish
We appreciate the importance of making the right choice of tree. You may have a favourite species or wish to adopt a tree in an area you like. Another tree may faithfully remember your anniversary with their blossom, fruit, or colour. We will do our utmost to ensure that you continue to be pleased with your selection for years to come.
Our trees can be adopted from £400 and once a suitable tree has been agreed, it will be labelled with the name of the person for whom it is adopted. You will also receive an adoption certificate for your tree, along with six complimentary tickets to visit the Gardens. Tree adoption is not only a very special living gift, which over the years will be enjoyed and treasured by you and your future generations, but it also helps us continue to develop and maintain this beautiful collection of trees and plants within the Gardens.
A commemorative bench provides a wonderful focal point for remembering the life of a special person. We welcome your support to enable us to add new benches to the Gardens and always aim to find a suitable location with you for your bench.
6ft and 8ft benches cost £1,000 and £1,200 respectively. This price includes a commemorative plaque with your own personal wording (max 20 words), engraving costs and six complimentary entry tickets to visit the Gardens.
All our benches are made to order from hardwood, using sustainable materials and last at least ten years, most much longer. For further information, contact us on 01794 369318. Benches and trees for political parties or pressure groups cannot be accepted.
We would be delighted to hear from you if you are interested in sponsoring a feature within the Gardens.
We are always developing or replanting areas of the Gardens, and without the generous support of many grant-giving organisations, private companies and individuals, we could not have developed features such as the All Ability Path network, replanting the Centenary Border, the new Wisteria Border or the redevelopment of Hydrangea Walk.
By writing a will, you can ensure the things you value most continue to be cared for after you are gone.
Once you have looked after family and friends, please consider remembering the Sir Harold Hillier Gardens in your will. As a charitable trust, our work relies on donations. Leaving a gift in your Will is a means by which you can continue the support you have already given us during your lifetime and will enable our beautiful Gardens to be enjoyed for years to come. A gift of any size will make a difference and you can be assured it will be really appreciated.
There are many ways to leave a legacy gift to us and we would always recommend you consult a solicitor but if you want an informal and no obligation conversation, please contact the Director.
Over the years your kind donations have helped us develop the Gardens, add to our plant collection, purchase specialist books for our library, undertake education and interpretation projects and help support trainees at the Gardens.
Any size donation is much appreciated and enables us to continue our work in horticulture, conservation, education and recreation. To make a donation you can either use our donation box on the visitor services desk, or contact us on 01794 369318.
