Primary/Secondary Information Communication and Technology Strategy Groups
PICATS and SICATS exist to ensure effective 'management partnership' and consultative/liaison arrangements between schools and the local authority with respect to information management, communications and technology. The overall aim is to ensure effective collaborative working which maximises the beneficial impact of ICT on teaching and learning and on management and administration.
- To develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of information management, communication and technology issues as they impact on schools collectively, within the broader local authority, regional and national context.
- To represent schools in the development - in partnership with the local authority - of information management, communication and technology strategies and policies that meet the needs of all partners and achieve best use of available resources.
- To monitor and steer the work of Education Department managers and support services with respect to information management, communication and technology, with specific responsibility for the management partnership of Hampshire IT.
- To act as a two-way communication network between the local authority and schools on all matters related to information management, communication and the use of information technology.
