The free School Website Service provides an easy-to-use template-based system, helping you produce and maintain a professional-looking website without the need for any web design skills.
It is an alternative to our standard web hosting service, and is available to schools that have an internet services contract with Hampshire County Council but who don't yet have a website. The main features include:
Access to your site for updating is possible from any location whether at school or at home, providing your computer's web browser meets the minimum specifications. Full details are in the user guide, and a simple compatibility test is available to assist.
The following templates are available and can be customised using the palette of colours shown below. To complete the customisation you will need to add your school's logo. Instructions for doing this are contained in the user guide.

To apply for a new site for your school please use the online form.
If your school already has a website and you are interested in the new service, please register your interest using the application form and we will contact you to discuss.
The online user guide provides comprehensive instructions for using the School Website Service and also contains a Frequently Asked Questions section.
You can also print the user guide to use as a checklist.
The user guide should provide all of the assistance required but if you still require help please contact the IT Help Desk with details of the problem.
We also recommend that you sign up to the dedicated mailing list for the service
This will allow you to share ideas and questions with other schools using the service and we will also use the list to advise of updates to the user guide and any other useful information for users.
Membership of the list is free of charge.
