This service allows school staff to safely and securely connect to their school network and access everything they would normally be able to see in school. Contact the IT Service Desk on 01962 847007 for more information about using the remote working service at your school.
For schools already subscribing to the remote working service, you will logon to the system in the following way:
Prior to logging into the service for the first time, download Citrix receiver using these instructions for Connect for PCs. If you connect remotely to CH SIMS or HSS you will already have citrix receiver and can skip this step.
You will need a Cryptocard/Safenet token to login.
Go to web page https://gateway.hants.gov.uk/.
Enter your EDU/CH SIMS username and password in the appropriate boxes.
Enter the PIN+token, which is made up of the following two parts:
the four digit PIN you set up the first time you used your Cryptocard/Safenet token. If this is the first time you have used the Cryptocard/Safenet token, this will be 8520.
a six digit PIN which is generated by pressing the button on your Cryptocard/Safenet token. An example PIN+token is 8520123456 where 8520 is the PIN and 123456 is the number generated by the token.
Click Log On
If this is the first time you have used your Cryptocard token, follow the on-screen instructions to change the PIN to a number of your own choice.
If you are asked to change your password, follow the on-screen instructions. Your new password needs to be at least seven characters long and contain at least one uppercase, one lowercase and one numeric character.
If you see a security message asking if Citrix is a trusted program, click Allow.
If you get a message at the foot of the screen asking if you want to open or save a file, click Open.
If the next screen looks like the screen below, click on the applications.
Click on the Remote School icon.
A box will appear requesting your username/password.
If a Domain name appears under the Password box, as in the screenshot below, enter the user name and password for the domain that you are connecting to. This is normally the user name and password that you use when logging in at school.
If no Domain name appears under the password box
enter your domain name, followed by your username in the format: Domain/Username
Server : It is important to remember that your servers MUST be left powered on at all times, including holidays, to ensure staff can access remotely.
Workstation : If you are using the Single Workstation Setup, it is important to remember that the user must close all applications and log out of the machine at the end of each day but leave the machine powered on at all times, including school holidays.
File Transfers : You will not be able to transfer files to your home PC while using this service.
Printing : You will not be able to print to your home PC while logged on remotely. Any printing will be done on your school printer.
Data Protection : Please follow the advice regarding Data Protection on the Service Definition document.
Sharing Account Information : For security reasons, users must not share their account and login details with other members of staff.
