Hampshire has a rich natural heritage and a long tradition of biological recording by both volunteers and professional staff. The Hampshire Biodiversity Information Centre (HBIC) is a partnership led initiative, hosted by Hampshire County Council, which has been established to bring together valuable information on Hampshire’s wildlife and natural environment, to collate and manage this data, and to disseminate to those who need it.
HBIC is working in partnership with the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust, the Hampshire Amphibian & Reptile Group and the Hampshire Mammal Group to promote online species recording in Hampshire using Living Record.
