Regeneration of Older Urban Areas initiative (ROUAi)
Established in 1984, the aim of the Initiative is to improve the quality of
life of all those living, working and visiting our urban areas.
The Initiative is now incorporated into the Quality of Place Programme but the aspirations remain the same. Information on these pages is being updated but in the interim if you have any queries please use the contact form
We continue to work in partnership with the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Our aim is to make the best use of Hampshire’s cities, towns and suburbs by:
- Making the best use of land and property;
- High quality design;
- Long life solutions and materials; and
- Appropriateness to the local sense of place
In partnership with the District Council and the local community, the County Council selects suitable schemes for inclusion in the Initiative. These are assessed against agreed criteria which reflect the aims of the Initiative. The 2006 – 2008 programme is currently fully committed.
