“A creative service at the heart of Hampshire communities which prides itself on meeting their evolving needs for reading, information, learning and enjoyment.” Library Vision and Strategy

We are part of Hampshire County Council's Culture, Communities and Business Services department and - with 48 libraries, 3 Discovery Centres, 2 local studies libraries, 2 prison libraries, and 4 mobile libraries... one of the largest library services in the country. We also support 2 community libraries.

Hampshire Libraries hold over 2 million items of stock and receive nearly 6.5m visits a year! In addition over 10% of issues and renewals are carried out online.
There is an ongoing programme to install self service and by April 2013 this facility will be available in 15 of our libraries.

Public computers available in every library provide free access to the internet and WiFi is available in many libraries.
Customers also have access to our Reference Online collection and eBooks from the comfort of their own home.
