The Solent Way begins in the seaside town of Milford-on-Sea. It follows the seashore to Hurst Castle Spit, which stretches out to Hurst Castle.
From here you can retrace your steps back to the mainland, or catch a ferry (seasonal) to Keyhaven Harbour along the seawall past the unique Lymington-Keyhaven Nature Reserve, which provides a home for a huge number of wetland birds, plants and animals.
The Way continues to the yachting Mecca of Lymington with its pretty cobbled streets hosting many cafés, restaurants and pubs, as well as shops to browse in.
