Hampshire County Council, together with its partner mineral planning authorities (Southampton City Council, Portsmouth City Council and the New Forest National Park Authority held an event to discuss oil and gas development in Hampshire on 5 June 2014. The purpose of the event was to clarify the roles of the planning and regulation authorities and to discuss what may be expected should planning applications come forward in the future. It also addressed issues of concern associated with oil and gas development, and in particular the fracking process raised by Hampshire's local communities and interest groups. A dedicated oil and gas development webpage for the event is available which includes the presentations from the day as well as the summary report prepared on the main outcomes and recommendations has now been published.
