The LGPS is changing from 01 April 2014. If you are paying into the scheme then you will automatically be put into this scheme from this date. If you retire or leave before this date, then there is no change to your pension including any deferred (frozen) benefits you have.
Our summary leaflet will give you an overview on the changes to the scheme. If you would like to know even more, please see below.
There is a dedicated member LGPS 2014 website which is hosted by Merseyside Pension Fund. This will provide you with lots of information on the changes to the scheme.
There are also some quick LGPS 2014 videos available, outlining the key changes to the scheme.
From 01 April 2014 the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is changing. Whilst you may be aware of some of the changes, are you aware of them all?
The Hampshire Pension Fund in partnership with Paul Monger, one of Prudential's Regional Workplace Consultants, will be providing seminars, designed to help you think about your personal situation.
The seminars are factual and informative and last around an hour. They are intended to give you useful information, but not advice. The seminars are for everyone who would like to know more about their pensions, not just those in the scheme and who are approaching retirement. Here’s what you can expect to gain from attending:
An overview of the 2014 scheme changes to the LGPS and answers to some of the questions you have.
Reassurance that you are aware of all the savings opportunities available to LGPS members.
Valuable knowledge about how the taxman can help you boost the money you save.
