EFFECTS OF THE ORDERS: will be to implement prohibition of driving, no waiting at any time and 30mph speed limit restrictions at Alton as specified below:
Order 1 – Prohibition of Driving
(i) U230 Winchester Road – that length of the south-bound carriageway between its roundabout junction with the A339 Selborne Road / Whitedown Lane and a point 13 metres south-west thereof.
(ii) U230 Winchester Road – that length of the north-bound carriageway between its roundabout junction with the A339 Selborne Road / Whitedown Lane and a point 6 metres south-west thereof.
Order 2 – No Waiting at Any Time
(i) U230 Winchester Road – north side : for its entire length, an approximate distance of 8.9 metres.
(ii) U230 Winchester Road – north-west side : between its northern point of termination and a point 18.7 metres south-west thereof.
(iii) The turning area off the south-east side of U230 Winchester Road – all sides : from its junction with U230 Winchester Road for its entire length, an approximate distance of 26.8 metres.
(iv) U230 Winchester Road – south-east side : between its northern point of termination and its junction with the northern kerb-line of the turning head described above, an approximate distance of 10.8 metres.
(v) U230 Winchester Road – south-east side : between its junction with the southern kerb-line of the turning head described above and a point 5 metres south-west thereof.
Order 3 – 30mph Speed Limit (by virtue of a prescribed system of street lighting) – existing de-restricted
A339 Whitedown Lane / Selborne Road : between a point (at the termination of the existing 30mph limit) 67 metres south-east of its roundabout junction with the U230 Winchester Road and a point 110 metres south-east of that point.
The speed limit order will also include a separate description for the length of Basingstoke Road Service Road (the cul-de-sac opposite Kiln Lane and adjacent to the northern end of Highridge), an approximate distance of 108 metres in schedule I.
