2. The current capacity of Samuel Cody Sports College, Farnborough is for 128 pupils aged 11-16 year olds with moderate learning difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The age range of Samuel Cody Sports College will be altered to 4-16, to accommodate up to 50 additional primary age children, with a phased increase over 4 years. This will take effect from January 2018. From that date the school will have a total capacity for 178 pupils. Hampshire County Council has recently undertaken a significant review to project the number of specialist school places available. This review indicated the lack of specialist Primary places for children with moderate learning difficulties and social communication difficulties in the North of Hampshire. Samuel Cody Sports College age range is being expanded to cater for a primary division. To accommodate the new primary provision, it is proposed that existing community spaces will be converted into teaching accommodation. The estimated budget for this project is £0.7 million.
