If you consider that a particular tree next to or close to a road or highway, is an exceptional example, or if it is a significantly valuable tree in the townscape/landscape please let us know (see below). We will note the tree in our records system as an 'important tree'and ensure this is recognised in future management.
We generally only carry out works to roadside trees for reasons of safety, or where damage has occurred or is likely. When significant works (such as felling or heavy crown reductions) are necessary for highway safety and we consider that the tree to be of high visual value, we do our best to contact nearby residents, parish and local councils, councillors and any other relevant interested parties.
If you highlight a tree in your locality as 'important' we will attempt to contact interested parties in the same way.
