Athletics is a sport for all ages and abilities. The Hampshire & IOW Athletics Network is a strong network of clubs in Hampshire providing opportunities for competitive track and field athletics as well as cross country and road running.
The Run England scheme is a great starting point if you are just getting started in running and want to get fit in relaxed, sociable and friendly environments.
A strong volunteer and coaching workforce ensures that there are opportunities to get involved in the sport at every level. Athletics depends upon the commitment and enthusiasm of volunteers and participation is both rewarding and challenging.

To get started in running, the Run England scheme is an ideal place to start. The philosophy is that running should be available and accessible for everyone, with running groups being created for women and mixed gender, schools, work places and families.
Run England is about helping you to exercise every week no matter your age, shape, size or ability. There are groups being created all over the county with trained Run England group leaders to support you through those first steps - all at your own pace with no competition.
Contact Katharine Jones for information on getting started in a safe and social environment. You can join by yourself or with friends, family or colleagues.
