Our HTAS athletes have been busy competing and training. Here's what they've been doing this year:
At the English Schools National final Millie came 7th in the 75m hurdles. She was also part of the Hampshire 4 x 100m team that came 3rd at the event. At the England Athletics AAA National Championships, she again came 7th and was the only girl from the younger age group in the final.
Beulah has recently been asked to play for a badminton team in Madrid, and will be competing in the highest league in Spain. Her first tournament will be in December.
Lauren is still progressing in the England Under 18 Team and hopes to make final 12 again to represent them in the Division A European Championships next year. She is now playing National League Division 1 Womens Basketball and has already matched up with some of the GB Olympic Team. She plays for Sevenoaks Suns, a very young team who were in the semi-finals of the Womens Cup in December against Northumbria.
Ayesha recently became South Champion for the Junior Women Class for BMX racing.
Cecilia won the 2012 National Championships and has kept her place in the GB team.
Emily competed in a Southern Region event - Banbury Hasler Race in division 4 K2 where she came 3rd.
Abbie won three golds at the recent Southampton Invitational Grand Prix Diving event. She also won gold the following weekend in a competition against Berlin, Germany and has again been selected as part of the England Talent Development Squad for 2013.
At the National Age Group Finals in Sheffield Thomas came 3rd in the 3m boys 14-18 years Synchro and 3rd in the 3m boys Group B Individual competition.
At the Southampton Invitational he came 7th with a new personal best score in the 3m boys Group B individual event.
Edgar competed in Bonn and finished 56th, putting him in line for selection for the European Championships, and only missed going through to the last 32 on the final hit, which would have given him automatic selection for the World Championships. More locally, he competed in a senior men's competition and finished 16th having beaten the GB no.1 seed.
Earlier this month Kelly came 1st in the beam final and 2nd in the vault final at the Rushmoor Rosebowl International. Kelly continues to train with Great Britain in Lilleshall. In the next few weeks she travels France and Russia for competitions.
Callum was selected to represent Great Britain at the Future Cup in Austria. He was 3rd overall in the under 16s, a great achievement as a 13 year old. Team GBR came 2nd overall.
Congratulations to the HTAS hockey players picked for England age groups teams for next season. Rebecca Van Berkel has a place in the England U21s squad and Oliver Nail and Charlie Stubbings are in the England U18 squad. Congratulations to Daniel Faulkner and Sam Hatherley who have both been selected to compete for Team GB at the Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF) in Sydney from 16-20 January 2013. Approximately 1700 athletes aged 13-19 from 30 nations will compete across 17 Olympic sports in some of the venues used in the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games.
Danielle represented Team GB and won the Ice Challenge 2012 in Austria and came second in the British Championships 2012 .
In September Oliver competed in the Alexander Palace IJS competition Novice Mens category finishing 2nd in the short programme and 1st in the long programme. He went on to the British Figure Skating Championships, where he finished 5th overall in the novice mens category and is now one of the top five skaters for this category in the UK.
Congratulations to Harry Boby who has been selected again for both the England squad and the England Talent Development Judo squad after passing the physical tests despite having been out with a broken wrist.
Shelley is currently in training for the British Championships in Sheffield in January. She has been picked for a second year to join the England Cadets judo team and at present is the youngest ranked cadet in the England ranking list.
Hannah represented GB at World Tour Biathle in Italy in August and won a silver medal. She was selected for the World Championships for Biathle in Dubai in November where she came 11th. She has just been offered trials for the World Class Talent Programme for Modern Pentathlon in January.
Katie has been selected for the U17 England squad and have been successfully been picked for the NTL Team South netball. Team South recently took part in the opening tournament in Hull where they came an overall 2nd.
Tim has recently been selected for the Great Britain Talent Development Orienteering squad.
Craig won the British University Fleet Racing Championships in the Firefly class, sailing for Plymouth University. He has also been selected to participate in the winter training program of the RYA Olympic Development Squad in the 470 Class.
Ruth and her crew Alice Masterman are the National Ladies 29er Champions, as well as Ladies Grand Prix Champions. Ruth has also been selected for the RYA National 29er squad.
At the 29er Eurocup in Lake Garda, Italy, Vikki represented Team GBR and came 4th overall and was 1st in the Ladies. She is 29er Ladies Inland Champion 2012 and has been selected for the 29er Volvo Youth National Squad for the 3rd year.
Luke won silver at the 420 National End of Season Championships and has been selected for the 2012-13 RYA 420 National Youth Squad.
Josh and his sailing partner won the 420 National Junior Champion title in August and were selected to sail in two International events in France (where they came 5th overall) and an upcoming event in Italy. Josh was selected for the RYA 420 National Youth Squad for the second year running.
Kyle has recently become U15 County champion, U15 Regional Champion and has been invited to 2 National squads. He was runner up U15 Nordic Open in Sweden and finished 6th in British Championship. He also won the U15 Devon and Exeter silver event.
Emma recently won 4 gold medals at the Multi-Regional Synchronised Swimming Competition. These included; South East Gold in the 13/14 age group duet competition, overall Gold in the 13/14 age group duet competition, South East Gold in the 13/14 age group team competition and overall Gold in the 13/14 age group team competition.
Hannah represented England at the Senior 6 Nations and received a silver in the team event and bronze in the singles event.
David represented England in the 6 Nations team event in Guernsey this month. England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Eire and the Channel Islands took part. He won a gold medal with his partner in the Mens Team event, a silver medal in the Combined Team event (men and women) and a silver medal in the Mens Individual event. Earlier this season David and his partner were the Mens Doubles winners in the Newcastle Grand Prix.
It has been a great year for Tressa. She was part of the team that won the Womens British League - Premier Division and was selected for England Junior Girls at Czech Junior Open. In October she was selected for the Hungarian Junior Open to represent England Under 18s in the team, individuals and doubles events but unfortunately she was not able to attend due to a back problem. This month she won the Women's Open Competition at the Bristol Grand Prix. This was her first senior womens win.
Brendon competed for England in the European Tae Kwon-Do Championships in Poland, where we won a silver medal. At the British Championships in November he won gold.
Miles is now the Great Britain National Junior Under 16s Boys Doubles Champion and also Singles County Boys 16s and 18s Champion.
