As the Millennium approached, WFSA promoted a project to encourage the making and deposit of community videos to mark the occasion in an appropriate way. Hence in 1999 the Hampshire Millennium Community Video Record was initiated, which included a competition for short items.
Over 30 videos had been received by the end of the year 2000, all chronicling activities in various parts of the county, some of which were featured on local television. Towns, villages, suburbs and schools are covered, notably Odiham, Bramshaw, Emsworth, Crondall, Hartley Wespall, Breamore, Monxton and Langstone. The latter won the competition for short items.
