Oral History

WFSA has always sought to encourage the sound recording of people's memories about the past - oral history - to add to the many written sources in record offices. Horndean (AV630/1) is also noteworthy, as the reminiscences are based upon a poem about the village written in about 1910. The Winchester collection listed above was recorded by former City Archivist Austin Whitaker with David Waldin, covering the period 1960-1985.
