Talks and lectures
Museums Service staff are regularly invited to give talks and lectures on a variety of subjects. Subjects may range from a general overview of the Museums Service, to an insight into a particular collection, museum or exhibition. Some staff also offer their own lists of topics, based on their particular areas of expertise and enthusiasms. A fee and travel expenses are usually charged.
We would generally expect at least eight weeks notice when requesting a talk or lecture although bookings are often taken up to a year in advance.
NB Most staff have an annual quota for talks and lectures since they are very time consuming and we need to be sure that other duties and responsibilities do not suffer. As a consequence we cannot guarantee to provide a speaker.
