Town Trail
A 1½ -2 hour session for one class of KS 2 children.
Supports QCA Units on Local History
Organisation
Prior to the session adult helpers will be provided with high visibility tabards if not provided by the school. During the session pupils will need to walk sensibly in pairs and be ready to bunch as a group to hear the guide, to answer questions and to put forward ideas. The walk progresses via the Priory grounds to the Mill then via Convent Walk and return via the Castle. Some quiet roads need to be crossed and part of the walk may be on broad paths close to shallow water. A throw-bag for emergency rescue will be carried by the guide.
All those taking part in the walk need to be dressed appropriately for the weather conditions for the time of year including waterproofs for wet conditions and sun-screen /hats for hot conditions.
