Minibuses

Many voluntary organisations, schools and colleges own and use a minibus to meet the transport needs of their group which cannot be met through conventional bus services.

Over 450 minibuses are owned and operated by voluntary organisations, local schools and colleges, and used to meet the local transport needs of a range of groups which cannot be met through conventional bus services.

Minibuses are available in your area for group hire. If you belong to a group and wish to hire a minibus then you can find details of the numbers in your area by using the Minibus Search facility.

This covers those numbers which are contained in the Hampshire Minibus Register, and includes both standard minibuses and those which can carry passengers in wheelchairs.

There is also a new website Minibuses for Schools and Colleges aimed specifically at Hampshire's education sector, with information on buying and leasing a minibus, maintaining and insuring it, driver licensing and many other issues.

Hampshire County Council  also produces a number of minibus advice fact sheets on different issues, which you may find helpful.
