What is the Stoney Heath and Baughurst to Basingstoke Carshare?
It is a public transport service that has replaced the 36 bus service for passengers travelling from:
Sherborne St. John
A carshare is similar to a bus service only a 'private hire vehicle' or taxis instead of a bus. These services run to a timetable just as a bus would, and passengers book themselves a seat to travel.
Where can I travel to?
Pre-booked passengers will be able to travel to:
North Hampshire Hospital
Basingstoke Rail Station
in between villages.
The vehicle will pick you up from your nearest bus stop. If you are unable to get to a bus stop due to a mobility issue then you can get picked up from your home address or a convenient place nearby. You will need to discuss this when you register.

Anyone who needs to travel from the areas listed below into Basingstoke can use the carshare:

Stoney Heath/Pound Green/Baughurst to Basingstoke £2.20 single/£3.30 return.
West Heath/Ramsdell/Charter Alley to Basingstoke £2.10 single/£3.15 return.
Monk Sherborne/Sherborne St John to Basingstoke £1.70 single/£2.00 return.
Between villages £1.20
If you have a Hampshire County Council disabled person's bus pass you can travel free on this service. If you have a Hampshire County Council older person's bus pass you can travel for free on any journey departing from your stop after 09:30. If you have a pass issued by any other English Local Authority you can travel for free on any journey departing from your stop after 09:30. In all cases show your pass to the Taxishare/Carshare driver each time you travel otherwise you will need to pay.
Children under five can travel for free and those under 16 for half price.
How do I book?
Before you can use the Carshare you need to register with Hampshire County Council by calling the number below.
You will then be sent membership information with the booking number to ring when you would like to travel.
To use the service you must book your seat by 4pm the day before you wish to travel.
