What is the Fordingbridge Taxishare? (61/62)

It is a public transport service for passengers travelling to and from Hyde, Frogham, Sandleheath, Woodgreen, Harbridge, Mockbeggar, Whitsbury, Breamore, Godshill, Parsonage Park, Rockbourne, Ashford, Damerham, and Martin, taking passengers into Fordingbridge.

A taxishare is similar to a bus service only a 'taxi' picks passengers up instead of a bus. These services are often put in place when a bus service no longer operates in the area and can be known as either a Taxishare or Carshare.

No, however you can connect to the Wilts and Dorset X3 bus service at Fordingbridge at 09.55 and return from Salisbury on the 13.10.

The taxi picks you up and drops you back to your home address.

Can I travel directly from my home to Salisbury?

No, however you can connect to the Wilts and Dorset X3 bus service at Fordingbridge at 09.55 and return from Salisbury on the 13.10.

What does it cost?

The amount you pay depends where you live, but it will cost you no more than £4 return into Fordingbridge and £6 return to Salisbury.

If you have a Hampshire County Council disabled person's bus pass you can travel free on this service.  If you have a Hampshire County Council older person's bus pass you can travel for free on any journey departing from your stop after 09:00.  If you have a pass issued by any other English Local Authority you can travel for free on any journey departing from your stop after 09:30.  In all cases show your pass to the Taxishare/Carshare driver each time you travel otherwise you will need to pay.

How do I book?

Before you can use the Carshare you need to register with Hampshire County Council by calling the number below.

You will then be sent a membership pack with the booking number to ring when you would like to travel.

To use the service you must book your seat. Ideally you should book by 5pm the day before you wish to travel.
