What is the Chilworth and Upton Crescent Taxishare?

It is a public transport service for residents living in Chilworth or Upton Crescent.

The taxishare is similar to a bus service only a 'taxi' picks passengers up instead of a bus. These services are often put in place when a bus service no longer operates in the area and can be known as either a Taxishare or Carshare.

The Taxishare operates on Tuesdays and Fridays at the following times:

Lord's Hill Centre, Library 10:02

Return journey departs Lordshill at 11:00 and 13:00

Nursling, Upton Crescent 11:04 and 13:04

Nursling, Balmoral Way at 11:06 and 13:06

Chilworth to Lord’s Hill Single £2.40 Return £3.80

Balmoral Way to Lord’s Hill Single 95p Return £1.60

Upton Crescent to Lord’s Hill Single 95p Return £1.60

If you have a Hampshire County Council disabled person's bus pass you can travel free on this service.  If you have a Hampshire County Council older person's bus pass you can travel for free on any journey departing from your stop after 09:00.  If you have a pass issued by any other English Local Authority you can travel for free on any journey departing from your stop after 09:30.  In all cases show your pass to the Taxishare/Carshare driver each time you travel otherwise you will need to pay.

Children under five can travel for free and those under 16 for half price.

How do I book?

Before you can use the taxishare you need to register with Hampshire County Council by calling 01962 846786. You will then be sent a membership pack with the booking number to ring when you would like to travel.
