What is the Stockbridge Taxishare?
It is a public transport service for anyone who needs to travel from Wherwell, Chilbolton, Longstock, Stockbridge, King’s Somborne, Houghton, Nether Wallop or Yokesford Hill in Timsbury to Romsey.
A Taxishare is similar to a bus service only a 'taxi' picks passengers up instead of a bus. The services run to a timetable just as a bus would, and passengers book themselves a seat to travel.
Where can I travel to?
You can travel to:
Romsey Town Centre
Alma Road Doctors Surgery.
The taxi will pick you up and drop you back to your home address.
Can anyone use this taxishare?
Anyone who needs to travel from:
Yokesford Hill in Timsbury
and who wants to travel into Romsey can use the Taxishare.
When can I travel?
The taxishare operates on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays and runs to a set timetable.
The taxi will ensure that you arrive into Romsey for 10.00am and will pick you up at 12.30pm.
What does it cost?
The service costs £2.70 single or £4.60 return.
If you have a Hampshire County Council disabled person's bus pass you can travel free on this service. If you have a Hampshire County Council older person's bus pass you can travel for free on any journey departing from your stop after 09:30. If you have a pass issued by any other English Local Authority you can travel for free on any journey departing from your stop after 09:30. In all cases show your pass to the Taxishare/Carshare driver each time you travel otherwise you will need to pay.
Children under five can travel for free and those under 16 for half price.
How do I book?
