Role of Finance and Contracts

The Finance and Contracts team works closely with both the SEN and Operations teams.

Their main areas of responsibility are the:

  • administration of tenders and contracts for local bus services and home to school transport;
  • preparation and monitoring of the home to school budget;
  • payment of invoices in respect of home to school contracts, local bus contracts, scholar season tickets and pupil travel claims;
  • administration of the collection of income relating to the Council's 'Privilege' transport scheme for pupils inter-authority recoupment; and
  • Criminal Records Bureau applications for contract drivers on passenger transport services.
