Following the retendering of the Winchester area subsidised bus services we have been able to place new contracts with the existing operators with just a few changes as detailed below.
Extra buses for the Winchester Passion Play on Good Friday 21st March 2008
The Park & Ride buses will be running every 15 minutes from 16.00 hours to 18.30. There will then be a gap in service for the duration of the Passion. Buses will resume service every 15 minutes from 21.00 hours until the last bus leaves the Broadway at 22.30 hours.
Service 1 Winchester-Harestock & Stanmore
There will be extra journeys to Harestock departing from the bus station at 21.45 and 22.15.
There will be extra journeys to Stanmore departing from the bus station at 21.30, 22.00 and 22.30 hours.
Service 5 Winchester-Olivers Battery and Badger Farm
There will be extra journeys to Olivers Battery and Badger Farm leaving the Broadway at 21.30 and 22.15 and extra journeys to Winnall leaving the bus station at 22.00 and 22.30.
The Spring Winchester - Springvale & Kings Worthy
There will be extra journeys to Springvale & Kings Worthy departing from the bus station at 21.45 and 22.25 hours."
Changes from 31 March 2008
Service 67 Winchester - Alresford - Petersfield
The good news is that the four journeys which were cut in October 2007 will be reinstated from 31st March 2008. These are the 09.50 and the 12.50 from Winchester and the 10.52 and the 13.52 from Petersfield.
Service 7 Winchester - Harestock - Littleton - Sparsholt
The last journey of the day will be run 20 minutes earlier throughout its route so that it will depart from Winchester at 19.00 hours and from the College at 19.17 hours.
Service 95A/96A Dummer - North Waltham - East Stratton - Winchester
In the school holidays, the first journey into Winchester and the last journey from Winchester will start and finish at East Stratton, missing out Sainsburys at Kempshott, Dummer, North Waltham and Popham. The 14.50 journey from Kempshott on Mondays will now run on Wednesdays and Fridays instead of Monday. For further details of this service telephone Mervyn's Coaches on 01962 774574.
