Hackney carriage taxis can be hired from a designated taxi rank or hailed from the roadside.

Alternatively, Private Hire cars can be booked in advance to provide a door-to-door service, and many drivers will help passengers get in and out of the vehicle or carry luggage and shopping.

If you can transfer out of your wheelchair, and your chair can be folded, most companies will carry your wheelchair in the boot free of charge.

You can use your travel tokens, if you have them, to pay for private hire or taxi fares, although you should check with the operator that these will be accepted when booking your journey.
