  • Our staff operate from in excess of 30 sites across Hampshire (not including the School Meals Service).

Property Services

  • Repair and maintain 7,000 buildings
  • Accommodation provided for 300,000 building users
  • Property assets valued at £2.2 billion
  • 900 building projects at design or construction stage
  • More than 10 national awards received during the last two years
  • Construction of major development area at Popley/950 dwellings new secondary school/employment area Spring 2005
  • 2,781 hectares of land (6,871 acres) of County Farms Estate is managed by the Rural Services Group (formerly Land Agency Team)
  • Total receipts from sale of land promoted for development over the last 20 years has been £380m
  • Gypsy and Traveller Services managed 4 permanent gypsy sites, with 78 permanent pitches and dealt with 125 unauthorised encampments on County Council land.

Business Services

  • Manage a purchasing and supplies portfolio of 300 contracts with a combined turnover of £75m each year
  • Total turnover/income of £37m annually
  • Participate in the Central Buying Consortium on behalf of the County Council
  • 2,700 products held in County Supplies Warehouse (avg. value £0.9m)
  • 37,000 school meals provided every day in 450 primary schools, 27 secondary schools
  • Fleet of 690 vehicles / plant items with 5 workshops
  • External income of around £4m
  • Operate the County Council’s courier service
  • Modern printing works at Winnall with 4,000 printing jobs each year; Castle Copy Services at HQ.

Regulatory Services

  • 6,000 complex legal enquiries per year from consumers and businesses
  • Trading Standards achieved 20 successful prosecutions
  • Regulatory Services receive an average 50,000 website hits per month
  • 13,000 toy safety tests
  • 60,000 tests to check the quality of food
  • Over 200 test purchases of alcohol (30% failure rate), cigarettes and fireworks
  • Other ceremonies: Renewal of Vows, Commitment & Remembrance Ceremonies
  • 7,489 births and 9,634 deaths registered
  • 5,390 marriage ceremonies held
